Jeff Watson joined True Digital Surgery in June 2020 as Director of Software Engineering to direct new and sustaining product development.

He received his Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from UCSB and his Master of Science degree in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Cal State Long Beach, where he studied real-time and parallel computing. He has contributed software solutions to aircraft simulators, sonar systems, infrared cameras, and endoscopic imaging systems, where he holds a patent. He has formerly taught a course at UCSB Extension on real-time and embedded software development.

Watson spent 24 years in the medical device software field at Karl Storz Imaging, as a developer, project manager, and manager/associate director. He has extensive experience with medical device software regulations, cybersecurity, and management of open source software. He led the growth of a software team from five up to 50 developers, including the establishment and integration of an offshore software development team. He remains passionate about finding ways to develop high-quality software that meets regulatory expectations without needless drama.

Jeff lives in Goleta with his family where he enjoys fixing up his former fixer upper.
