Mark Fritz

Director, Finance

Mark brings to True Digital Surgery almost 30 years’ experience in Finance and International Operations. He spent the first 20 years of his career in Asia with major multinationals Procter & Gamble, Philip Morris International, and Warner Bros. Studios. At PMI, he helped re-launch the Marlboro brand in Japan upon expiration of a 30-year license to Japan Tobacco, and in a 10-year tenure at Warner Bros., he guided the transformation of the business from analog to digital and helped establish the studio’s first international production division. He was a Warner Bros.’ representative to the MPAA from 2005–2015.

He returned to the US in 2015 to take a role with Amazon, and jumped into the Silicon Valley startup scene three years later. He joined JUUL Labs as the first Finance hire after their spinoff from Pax Labs in 2018, the first of two PE-backed companies he helped guide to successful exits: JUUL Labs ($12.8b acquisition by Altria at a $38b valuation) and Unity Technologies IPO ($1.3b raised at $13.7b valuation).

Mark served for five years with the American Chamber of Commerce, culminating in a nomination to the Japan External Affairs Advisory Board and the US-Japan Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP) Leadership Committee, participating in negotiations between US State Department and Dept. of Commerce & Japan’s Ministry of Internal Affairs & Communications (MIC) and Economy, Trade, & Industry (METI) in both Tokyo and Washington, D.C.  Mark holds an MBA in International Finance from the Thunderbird School of Global Management.
